Yemen wants to ramp things up:

— A report in the Emirati newspaper "Al Ain": AnsarAllah Yemen will also use explosive-laden boats, in addition to missiles & drones, in their attacks against ships [intended for israel] in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.

The article also states that Yemeni specialized experts are tweaking & finishing the uncompleted technical equipment necessary to use anti-ship ballistic missiles more effectively and reducing its inaccuracies.

I think they will send up picket stations or goalkeepers between the shipping lane and the west coast of Yemen. Most ships will not stop or wait.Maersk, CMA CGM, MSC & Hapag, may form their ships and sail under direct escort. Holy shit, this takes me back.

I wrote the CONOPS for escort operations in the BAM back in ‘03 with the Nimitz Strike Group.  The Commodore put his name on it, but I wrote it.  We decided that we needed to be running the same plays in the BAM that we ran in SOH.  Coming up with code names for checkpoints was pretty fun.

IMG_1239.gif.16c93ee9fa8dc2e69c7116d15b4b21e0.gif

I did ballistic missile defense patrols on a DDG in the Northern Arabian Gulf in the first half of ‘09.  Then in late ‘09 - ‘10 I was at the Pentagon writing the multi-national CONOPS for maritime anti-ballistic missile defense.

Three years after that, I was in Jebel Ali and the Commodore tasked my command with running small craft escorts for the full length of the Red Sea.  We wrote that CONOPS from scratch, except this time I put my name on the LT’s work.  Not so fun fact - My command was the same one that had the guys get nabbed by the Iranians off of Farsi Island (happened during my successor’s tour in command).  Was pretty fucking surreal to see guys I know in Iranian propaganda films in the media.

All this to say that we know what the fuck we are doing here, and this is going to be hilarious if the Houthi actually try anything.

This mission:

They might show up, but then an hour later it'd be nothing but empty stomach seas and we'd be asking for more.

I wonder if it actually irks Xi a little bit, that when shit goes down like this, nobody bothers with asking the Chinese to actually help.  Everybody just assumes they can't do anything.

I’d been wondering why we were showing so much restraint, refusing to counter attack the Houthis. I suppose this was a great opportunity to get our allies some live fire exercise. Fuck these mother fuckers, lets spread some freedom already

Just load up 3 or 4 C-Rams each onto some barges and let them escort the commercial vessels, or park them along the way. No need to risk major assets to worry about these little fuckers
